In addition to serving as a showroom for the Company's production systems and software, the AMTP helps customers strengthen their production capabilities, serving as a proposals-based sales promotion facility. The Show Plaza product showroom and Proposal & Presentation (P&P) rooms, opened during the fiscal year, are integral parts of this facility.
In response to the increasing demand for automation and laborsaving devices, Amada has made substantial changes to the showroom-based marketing strategies it has been using for the last 15 years. Rather than simply displaying products by type, in the Show Plaza products are displayed according to the type of functions they perform or end product they make. Specific categories include: 1. Sashes and frames, 2. Panels, 3. Containers, 4. precision mechanical parts, 5. Press parts, 6. Steel materials, and 7. Structural materials. The displays for each end product category are set up as workshops in which production lines and cell systems are formed out of the various machines required to manufacture the given end product. Each workshop is staffed with a chief, an assistant chief, and a variety of industry sector specialists whose depth of experience and expertise enable them to meet the most exacting customer requirements.
After customers are finished touring the workshops, they move to one of the AMTP's 12 P&P rooms, where they are introduced to full spectrum of state-of-the-art product presentation services.
P&P rooms afford customers the ideal environment in which to view Company presentations tailored to their specific proposals. These rooms are furnished with the latest high-tech equipment, including 3-D graphic simulation systems and 70-inch projection display screens, enabling Amada to respond to a wide variety of customer needs - ranging from complete upgrades of factory systems and the cell systemization of production processes to the simple introduction of newer versions of existing machinery. P&P rooms employ easy-to-understand displays that achieve an ideal blend of hardware and software. Furthermore, these facilities allow Amada's customers to preview their future production facilities by showing them how selected machinery and cell systemization would enhance their manufacturing operations.
